Project Topic
interactive Art & Installation Design
Project Description
Create an interactive
installation art work responding to theme "!"
what is "!"?
We define "!" as something that created surprise
and shock. It is something that we do not expect and something that not behave
as what it should be behave in diary life routine. In this case, we tend to define a new and
interesting function for the existing item/gadget and trigger the unexpected response"!"
from our users.
Ideas
Idea1:
Define the new
function of webcam
Medias used:
webcam , computer screen
Description:
1 pairs of webcam is installed on a per-designed sculpture
and place on the location. User passed by might interact with the sculpture due
to it interesting appearance. video is recorded on the webcam and playback on a
monitor screen that place at a check point that near the location.
The video play backed
is delayed by roughly few minutes. When the users reach the check point ,they will
notice the monitor screen and shock when they find out their action just now is
display on the screen. Even if the user
do not interact with the sculpture, their path on the location is still
recorded and display on the screen.
In this work, the interaction between the users and the installation
is spontaneous. The interactive between the users and the installation can be
formed without his/her intention. This spontaneous and unexpected interactive
is enough to trigger the sense "!".
Idea 2
Media used: Light, sound ,visual projection
Description
This installation is set up in some close area ( place that
contain ceiling). numbers of led lights are install in the ceiling of the
location. The led light is blinking in a random order and attract the users to
interact with it. One of the LED light contain the sensor to trigger the visual
projection and sound.
This sudden unexpected projection will trigger the shock("!")
from the users. To make the installation
much more interesting, The led light that trigger the projection will be
difference over time.
